Phase QA offers comprehensive Quality Assurance services to customers worldwide through three primary service plans. Those plans are Individual Audit, Extended Reach QA and our all-inclusive Comp QA plan. Each program is tailored to the individual needs of the customer and product to maximize the effectiveness of the program or individual audit.

Individual Audit Service – Phase QA’s Individual Audit Service is for clients requiring high value document driven audit services on a limited basis. This is often sought by companies needing a rapid deployment of an audit team in “firefighting” mode where quality issues are known or suspected to exist. Phase supplies the industries best trained, best backed and most qualified inspectors in the business to support your QA inspection efforts throughout Asia.

· Inspection criteria and all lot dispositions are made based on customer
supplied documentation and instructions.
· Images taken during the audit procedure are sent via e-mail or
temporary FTP depending on overall file size and image quantity.
· Inspection results are sent out in our easy to read and understand
reporting format within 12 hours of the audit completion.
· Inspection results are stored electronically for 24 months per ISO
guidelines.
· Lot size and final determinations based on MIL-STD-105-E - Single
sampling, GIL-2 unless otherwise specified by client.

Extended Reach QA program – Phase QA’s award winning “Extended Reach” QA program is a subscription based audit service is designed for those companies who have strong internal QA programs but are frustrated with poor quality coming out of their Asia based vendors. Weak quality programs plague the consumer electronics industry as a whole and many companies are taking advantage of our Extended Reach QA program to get a handle on quality issues before they ship out of their Asian vendors. Depending on the size of your company, the money saved through Extended Reach QA typically equates to millions of dollars saved due to cost of quality issues such as rework, sorting or handling and most importantly, missed business due to poor quality product.

We take pride in our ability to significantly enhance your existing program by backing it with proven inspection procedures, documentation systems and methods. Programs such as our product status system which identifies product that is more likely to have quality issues and directs additional inspection activity to those higher risk products. Of course, daily inspections are backed up with premium quality, easy to understand reports, delivered to you within a few hours of the daily inspection activity. Below are just a few of the key features standard in our Extended Reach QA program. We invite you to contact Phase to learn more about the Extended Reach QA program and how it can be tailored to fit your QA system needs.

·Comprehensive Vendor Interface – Phase QA staff will interface directly with your vendors and
arrange weekly production schedules that allow our team to efficiently schedule audits of your product prior to shipment.
·Audit Reporting- Within 12 hours of audit completion, your QA staff will have a report outlining the
inspection event as well as the general information about the lot. Phase QA inspection reports are clear,
concise and very easy to understand. They include a determination as well as indications of current product
status and remarks on individual unit nonconformance or observations by the lead inspector.
·Monthly Performance Reporting – Monthly summary reports delivered to your inbox give you a
comprehensive overview of your QA program at a glance as well as letting you apply vendor ratings, quality index figures and other important data. Formatted for clarity with the goal of getting a meaningful summary
of activity into your hands- not just a lot of meaningless data for your staff to sort through. Delivered in the
popular Excel format, the report includes overall activity of your product range and detailed by vendor.
·Yearly Summary Reporting – Comprehensive reporting of all statistics, units held, nonconformance and
audit results by vendor. Our clients often employ this important information into their management database to enable them to make better decisions as to the real cost of quality by vendor, overall quality levels and
even where to award new business based on fact- not feeling.
·Vendor Qualification Audit Services - Phase is well known for having the most comprehensive and
revealing vendor qualification audit in the consumer electronics industry. Our non-invasive, one and two
day audit programs offer significant insight about the capabilities, systems, strengths and potential pitfalls of new vendors. VQA survey results are delivered in an easy to read format offering a relative score,
commentary of specific strength or weakness and recommendations within 24 hours of the completion of
the audit. Customers subscribing to the Extended Reach QA program enjoy the benefit of 2 vendor quality
audits per calendar year conducted at no additional cost.
·Emergency Deployment Services - Rapid deployment of staff to survey and report on QA emergencies
on the ground in Asia. One or more of our staff can typically be on site and reporting facts within 24 hours
or less if an emergency arises.

·Production Startup Assistance – Phase QA staff can offer
assistance and support during mass production kickoff. This typically
includes a support presence by our staff to support your engineering or
QA team members in getting a successful mass production off and
running smoothly. Our staff will assist with communications, help point
out potential issues or process snags, record critical data as well as
being general inspectors. This all happens prior to the OQC inspection
conducted by the factory staff and out QA audit procedures following
that.

·Access to Modern Test Equipment - Technical support and use of a wide range of acoustic and
electronic test and measurement equipment. Includes the use of the Phase Group Acoustics lab and
facilities in Asia.
·Sample and Reference Storage - Management of acoustic reference selection in product validation
environments. Typically performed in conjunction with your engineering team member through direct or
electronic communication.
·Document Printing - Large format, full color document printing of your inspection documents.
·Document Storage - Client specific storage and archive facilities maintained in accordance to ISO
standards.
·Image Transfer & Storage - Images taken during the audit procedure are sent via e-mail or dedicated
FTP depending on overall file size and image quantity.
·Secure FTP - for file transfer is provided free of charge. This is significantly beneficial when transferring
large files such as 3D files, inspection drawings or artwork.
·Use of the Phase Design Facility in Shenzhen or Manila - Subscribing clients are welcome to use our
facility while in China or Manila for off-site client meetings, engineering or lab work, get time in the listening
room or simply as a place to get some work done while in Asia.

The Comp QA Program has been specifically designed for those customers who need a comprehensive QA program established from the ground up as well as ongoing service to effectively manage that program in Asia. The Comp QA program is also ideal for companies who are looking for significant improvements in their existing QC system assistance in an effort to gain control of their existing quality program or those customers who have minimal QA programs in place.

Where Comp QA differs from the Extended Reach program is in the addition of engineering support from our design group as well as enhanced focus on the establishment of standards as well as foundation level QA benchmarks. The focus is not only on the vendor base, but often on the customer as well, particularly in the case of a startup company or a customer who is just getting started with direct to vendor business in Asia. For instance, a company with a wide range of products who has been reliant on trade agents for supply chain and is now getting into direct vendor relationships but lacks the in house QA or engineering resources.

Comp QA includes all of the subscription benefits of the Extended reach program as well as several important additions. Customization of the Comp QA program to suit the needs of your company is our pleasure. Please contact a Phase representative to discuss the Comp QA program in greater detail.

·Establish Standards – Solid QA programs must be based on solid standards. Phase QA will assist your
staff in developing standards for cosmetics, performance, reliability, acoustics and other areas as needed.
This is a case where hands on activity is critical by all involved in order to properly establish the
preferences and needs of the customer.
·Development of Inspection Documents – Standards can only be recognized through proper
documentation. Phase will assist you with development of QA documentation including drawings, cosmetic
designation documents, standard reports and more.

·Enhanced Engineering Support – Engineering support is absolutely critical when it comes to creating the control documents and drawings as well as the selection of performance based references and standards.
However, engineering support does not stop there; it is available to the
QA staff whenever necessary throughout the life of the product.
·Vendor Introductory Meetings & Walkthroughs – One of the
critical path items in the program is a dedicated meeting with each of
your vendors to introduce the QA program and assign responsibility to
the Phase team. The meetings are attended by director level Phase
Group staff as well as the assigned program associate for your account. The meetings are conducted in an open, friendly frame of mind to put
the vendors at ease and win their support of the program as a way of saving them money in the short and
long term through reduced CoQ at their end. The meetings are supported with documentation in English and
Chinese with handout materials for the vendor to keep in print and electronic format.

At the same time, a basic walkthrough of the vendor’s facility is conducted and observations noted for
private discussion between the Phase staff and the customer. The purpose is to point out potential issues
and areas for potential improvement as well as areas where the customer may not be leveraging the vendor
capabilities to the fullest.

·Enhanced Vendor Interaction - High level vendor interaction related to communication of QA standards
and the subsequent enforcement of the documented standards. This follows the introductory meetings and
is accomplished by having a high level of direct communication, data exchange and direct interface
between the Phase QA staff and your vendors. This is where the rubber meets the road in terms of a solid
QA program.
·Vendor Qualification Audit Services- Phase is well known for having the most comprehensive and
revealing vendor qualification audit in the consumer electronics industry. Our non-invasive, one and two
day audit programs offer significant insight about the capabilities, systems, strengths and potential pitfalls of new vendors. VQA survey results are delivered in an easy to read format offering a relative score,
commentary of specific strength or weakness and recommendations within 24 hours of the completion of
the audit. Customers subscribing to the Extended Reach QA program enjoy the benefit of 4 vendor quality
audits per calendar year conducted at no additional cost.
